I’m so glad that I went back to 000 again because way back when I first read it I didn’t catch that Lyria is as old as Etamemanki, the tower from GBF’s creation myth…
Also it continues the really charming theme of Sandalphon being very careful about not overloading Lyria with information about her past and just going with “This is what you need to know right now, don’t overthink it. Also I brought a first aid kit (subtly thanking her for earlier times she helped him)”.

Hello! Just came here to say I really love your writing and request a sequel to the Belial x Pregnancy S/O where she gives birth to the child (whether it be a boy or a girl, maybe twins??)
A/n: hhhhhhh I’m love??? Thank you so much!!! Hhhhhh this one is a lot more emotional and has uhhhh some angst???
Belial is really calm during the delivery. You’re screaming at him that you’ll absolutely murder him because he’s making you go through this, and he is smiling back and patting your head and doing his best to help.
And he was overjoyed to see his precious little twins! One was a boy, the other a girl, and he was just having a heart attack at seeing their tiny bodies all swaddled up.
While you’re asleep and his children are by your bedside, he can’t help but just look at you guys and smile. This is...this is an entirely new feeling for him. He held back for so long, thinking that he shouldn’t have been able to get happiness, and here he was, a family, his very own family.
The kids are his absolute pride and joy. He’s basically a soccer mom in black jeans and purple feathers. He insists he must help his children with fashion because his KIDS CANNOT AND WILL NOT WALK AROUND LOOKING LIKE SOME BASIC SKYDWELLER. NU-UH CHIRREN, FLAUNT YOUR STUFF BECAUSE YOU ARE AMAZING.
Matching sunglasses for all of the family? More likely than you think.
Once his children start getting older and developing more personality, he tends to notice where they got them from.
For instance, his son is definitely you. A lot more calm and nice, a precious little bean who seems to always be smiling.
His daughter is definitely him. She’s a little diva, always loud and energetic. And he gets so proud when she threatens to beat people up for making fun of her brother.
While he loves both his children, his daughter is someone he relates to a lot more, so he knows all her little tricks.
“Ah, ah, ah, what did Mommy say about no dessert before dinner?”
“B-but! How’d you even find out? I cleaned up the mess!”
“Listen little munchkin, you can’t out smart me of all people.”
Let the mind games begin.
Belial lets her try his scythe and she instantly loves it. Your son however prefers a good ol’ harp.
Raising a family sure as hell ain’t easy, so sometimes he sends off the kids to Aunt Lyria or Uncle Sandalphon.
Belial’s got the biggest shit eating grin as he hands them over, because the two love the children and you, but they despise Belial with every fiber of their being (even after you’ve gotten married and everything).
Your daughter loves to screw with Sandalphon, and he has night terrors of when she switched out his sugar with salt, or replaced his coffee with soy sauce.
Just so you know, she’d never do that with Auntie Lyria because she gives her sweets!!!!
Your son is very polite and loves to learn more about the two, and Sandalphon likes having him over to just feel...not alone.
Belial never really thinks of how this could all go wrong now. He’s finally obtained happiness and love, and this high feels like it’ll never end.
until the day his son comes home crying about how when he was pushing a friend on a swing, they flew off and nearly broke their wrist.
His sister came home a week later and explained that the reason she had bloody knuckles was because she punched a kid who was trying to bully another classmate, and they landed on a desk and doubled over in pain (she was quite proud of it, and internally, so was Belial, but because you were nearby he scolded her lightly).
He never told his kids about their heritage, and had assumed that maybe they just didn’t get any significant powers because they seemed so...normal. When these things keep piling up, he can’t keep ignoring them or brushing them off as coincidences, so he immediately goes to you and rants about how awful he feels.
The reality of their situation only settles in more when his kids start to notice that they look a lot younger than most despite growing up. His son is the first to bring up how Belial looks the same as he did when you and him got married, yet you seem to have gotten older.
He of course laughed it off and said he had good genes.
Oh god, and his kids had them too.
He really did not know what this would mean for them. Would they be immortal? Or would they just live longer than most? What kind of powers would they have.
And the thought that plagues him the most- would they end up like how he was?
His anxiety hits a breaking point when his kids talk about how they had to do a project about the day the sky was about to fall. They didn’t believe it happened, but you two try to give a cleaner version of went down, so as to avoid the other parts about how their father was...a demon on some parts.
They picked up you two were hiding something, so they went to Sandalphon. He also would not reveal what happened, albeit he looked a lot more guilty and annoyed they asked, so they knew something bad happened.
The next went to Lyria. Your son remembered she kept a journal during her travels with you, and he asked for it, saying it was for a school project. Lyria, who was none the wiser to their schemes, handed it over and told them to have fun with it.
The following things they read made their heads spin. Lyria wrote a lot about that day.
“Sandalphon...he’s a primarch? And so is dad?”
“Look what she wrote for dad...’basically the worst’...”
“Brother...what’s going on?”
When they return home, your daughter immediately goes on the offensive and demands to know why you guys hid what they truly were.
“All this time! You lied to us! Here I was thinking something was really wrong with me- and it turns out you were just a bad guy!”
Her brother tries to calm her down but she gets even angrier and screams insults at Belial.
Belial feels anxious because he knew this day would come. The happiness he had worked so hard to obtain would come crumbling. Because of him.
In a desperate attempt to ease her anger and fear, Belial tries to step forward and place his hands on her shoulders, but she slaps them away and calls him a monster.
“Don’t touch me! You damn demon! You’re a monster! You’re a liar!”
“Don’t say that to him, sis! Breathe for a moment, please!”
Your daughter is incredibly affected by the news of what she is and who her father once was. She always loved Belial, and thought highly of him because he was similar to her, they could play pranks with each other and still be happy, because they were just two tricksters having fun.
But her stark sense of justice was an even bigger driving force in her life. The fact her father was someone evil made her insides churn. What if she became as bad as him one day?
Your son on the other hand, is a lot more calm and level-headed about the situation and understands how hard it must’ve been. He tries to sort out his feelings with you, since he always felt more comfortable with you, and asks what made you fall in love with Belial. After you tell your son about all your emotions, he goes and apologizes to Belial. He easily trusts him again, but does warn him that if he dare try to do anything remotely bad, he won’t hesitate to hurt him.
Belial nearly cries out of relief and pride. His son was finally becoming a man.
“I’ll hold it you, kid. I promise your old man won’t do anything bad.”
Fixing his relationship with his daughter took a lot of time. She wouldn’t even look at him and would coldly brush him off.
This was perhaps one of the most painful moments in his life, right up there at the time when you nearly killed him and Lucilius was murdered.
Eventually, she broke down and clung to him, apologizing profusely over how she treated him. She admitted her fears about becoming a bad person, and he wipes her tears and lets her know that she will never become a demon.
“You’re my little angel, you could never upset me, nor will you ever be a bad person.”
After the entire fiasco settles and Belial explains more of the situation to them, he instantly embraces you.
“Thank you...” He whispers as he hugs you tightly.
“For what? I’ve done nothing.”
“You stayed with me. You loved me even after those awful things I’ve done. Sometimes...sometimes I get scared of what will happen to us one day. What if I hurt you, or the kids?”
“Belial. Look at me, love. I know you. You’d never hurt us. I trust you with my life, even if the world turns its back on you. You have us. You have our love and support.”
It’s all he needs to hear before he breaks down and sobs into your arms.
Belial is actually pretty lax about his kids dating.
His daughter is pretty outgoing so she usually talks about her crush or will quickly tell him as she’s walking out of the house she’s going on a date. She’s been going steady with her boyfriend for three years now and she’s going on about getting married.
“Not until you graduate and I’m dead, young lady.”
“BUT YOURE IMMMOOOORRTTAAALLLLLL!!”
His son is pretty reserved and he literally begs him to go out.
“STOP STUDYING AND JUST LIKE GET A GIRLFRIEND OR SOMETHING!!!!”
When his son admits he has a crush on his classmate Belial is screaming and congratulating him.
Belial really tries to spend as much time with his family as possible. You’re unfortunately growing older, and so are the kids. As they’ve grown more proficient with their weapons and fighting, you decide to go back on the Grandcypher and adventure again.
Some of your crew mates have passed, while others have grown into adulthood splendidly, and it brings you joy to reunite with them.
Belial is surprisingly a good father. A lot of people were doubtful he’d ever change his ways and become a worthy man in society, but to him, he doesn’t care. He has you and his two kids. There’s practically nothing else he needs in the world except you three.
Sometimes Belial likes to just stare at you when you’re sleeping and just reminisce. He really wants to know what he did to become lucky enough to get married to you and start a family.
He sighs in contentment and pulls you closer to him, finally letting his tired body rest. There’s plenty of places to explore tomorrow, and he wants to celebrate and experience all of them with his family.

Sandalphon from GBF for the character thingy
Tumblr media
Send Me a Character
1) Favorite thing about them:
His entire character development across WMTSB. An angry, vengeful, spiteful primordial being who after failing to exact his revenge and destroy the world that created him despite being even less than a spare that was easily thrown away, learned to love it, cherish it, and be a part of it and of the lives within it.
Also this:
Tumblr media
2) Least favorite thing about them
Put some sugar in your fucking coffee, dude.
Nothing. He’s perfect. :)
3) Favorite line
This is gonna be a combination of two lines since they highlight Sandalphon’s change between WMTSB II and 000. One of his skill lines before his 5* uncap is “Don’t underestimate the power of a Primarch.” This is Sandalphon boasting about his newfound power but it’s also indicative of the attitude he carries in regard to it. It’s the line of a proud deity who is taking his job seriously but only treats it as a job, as a passing purpose since Sandalphon plans to foil Lucilius and Beelzebub’s plans and then perish to join Lucifer in the afterlife. It’s devoid of the conviction of a protector and instead filled with the burden of a survivor.
After his 5* uncap, possible only after 000 has been completed and Lucifer’s White Wing added to the player’s inventory, the line becomes “This is the power of a Primarch. Use it well.”  Sandalphon is no longer intimidating his opponent, he is telling you that this is his power, and he’s trusting you with it like Lucifer entrusted Sandalphon with it. This is Sandalphon telling the player he stands beside them and will lend them his strength to protect the sky. Sandalphon is a character surrounded by promises so this is his promise to you and it is also your promise to him, that you will use his abilities for the good of the skies.
4) brOTP
Sandalphon with Danchou, Vyrn, and Lyria.
5) OTP
Sandalphon x Lucifer
6) nOTP
Sandalphon x Lucilius, Sandalphon x Beelzebub, Sandalphon x Belial are all huge no-nos.
7) Random headcanon
Sandalphon is actually fond of small animals and keeps a few stuffed toys in his room gifted to him by the children among the crew.
8) Unpopular opinion
Well, I don’t know how unpopular this is but it is An Opinion™: Sandalphon likely is not bi, there is a stronger possibility he is a gay man. Shipping him with a female MC rubs me the wrong way though I will not object to anyone who does so and hc’s him as bi since sexualities in Granblue tend to be rather vague. As much as I would like to project my own sexuality onto him I think that “gay” rather than “bi” fits him best.
Try to argue he’s straight and I’ll set your clothes on fire.
9) Song I associate with them
Apart from his own theme song performed by his own voice actor? ARIA by Kalafina is appropriate. Also doubles as a mythology gag since Kenichi Suzumura voices Mikiya Kokutou in Kara no Kyoukai, the series where this song originates.
10) Favorite picture of them
See above, also his 5* uncap art is beautiful. To say nothing of his summer version’s uncap art as well.

nOTP
Sandy x Belial/Faa 😬😬😬😬😬
Random Headcanon
Until he gets to be more open about being affectionate with people, I like to think he expresses things with his wings. Like he'll walk by, saying nothing, but the tips of his feathers will brush Grandjeeta's hair ever so slightly, or his wings will start curling around whoever is closest to him on the battlefield.
Unpopular Opinion
Dooooon't think I have one?

nOTP
ShioFaa/Feru.
Random Headcanon
I'm gonna hate myself but there are times when Lucio keeps to himself and avoids Sandy because he knows he sees his Lucifer in him, and there are times when he stays by his side and comforts him as he grieves.
Sandy returns the favour by empathising when Lucio sorrows over not being able to see his master.
Unpopular Opinion
Don't think I have one for him either!
Song I Associate With Them
Empire of Angels by Two Steps From Hell
Favourite Picture Of Them
WHY IS HE LIKE THIS

Also,

Zooey
Favourite Thing About Them
She is such a sweet and kind girl who wants everyone to be happy and at peace, I love her.
Least Favourite Thing About Them
Nothing she is perfect.
Favourite Line
I haven't read through a lot of content with her yet but when I was reading her fate stories, and she disappeared and Lyria and MC tried wishing her back to them, the way she said "I'm back" when she returned absolutely killed me I was crying my eyes out.
brOTP
Sandy / Zooey!
OTP
Don't have one!
nOTP
Nope!
Random Headcanon
She and Sandy.... hang out together. Sandy appreciates how quiet she is and Zooey thinks he's interesting, but senses his good heart. Often they're chilling together and her dragons will just be curled up on his head. His hair good dragon nest. It makes her laugh every time.
Unpopular Opinion
Don't have one! She perfect!!!
Song I Associate With Them
Can you believe I was playing the game while listening to my FT playlist and Scarlet Warrioress came on? Anyway that's hers now.
Favourite Picture Of Them
Because of the skin I have on her from the Primal Resonance event, when you're idle in a fight she'll just start petting her dragon and I looooveee iiiitttttt

Lyria at the 3D Concert right after Sandalphon's number: You did amazing, Sandalphon!
Sandalphon: *proceeds to toe the line between insufferably smug and politely pleased*
Lyria: :DDD Everyone clap for him! Amazing, amazing!!
Sandalphon, internally: Mwahahaha, seethe with envy as I am praised by my girlfriend and you aren't. Does it rankle? Are you going to mount a futile attempt to one-up me? Too bad, we--oh no I have to keep talking this is a nightmare

Me in 2019: Oh my gosh Sandalphon swooped in to save Lyria from getting trapped in the Dimensional Rift, that’s so romantic!
Me now: The romance still stands but oh my god we could have gotten Lyria’s Adventures With Belial. Can you imagine her traveling through worlds with him, trying to keep him reined in? Going to the aquarium in Shibuya…holding his hand as they cross the busy streets because “I don’t want to lose you”…both of them inwardly freaking out because they finally feel needed…

Poisoned Honey Chapter 15 is here!
Fandom: Granblue Fantasy
Rating: E
Chapter 15/20: Lyria: The Preliminaries
Pairings: Belial/Djeeta, Belial/Lucifer, Belial/Djeeta/Lucifer, Sandalphon/Lyria, (for this chapter) brief Anthuria/Lyria
Summary: Lyria enters Unite and Delight's preliminaries, and finds unexpected sweetness on the other side.
Preview:
“Yes, everyone, the moment has finally come! Our lovely Tributes are going to face this great and terrible peril, the delightsome dungeon Lucifer devised!” A pause. “…That’s why he’s here with me, by the way.”
“Thank you very much for your help, Lord Grimnir. Ah, here comes Sandalphon’s Tribute, Lyria.”
She peeped awkwardly around the entrance’s doorframe, humbled by the muffled applause she heard. And Grimnir’s response, which to her surprise was adorable.
“Good heavens, this is Lyria?!” A delighted scream. “Oh, oh, please come out so we can behold your beauty!”
Lyria stepped out, even daring to do a little twirl that sent her shift fluttering about her.
Poor Grimnir sounded close to fainting at the sight. “Oh, jealous gods, you’ve only blessed me with so many eyes to view such loveliness!”

Title: Poisoned Honey
Chapter 11/20: Lucifer: The Decision
Rating: E (M for this chapter)
Fandom: Granblue Fantasy
Pairings: Belial/Djeeta, Belial/Lucifer, Djeeta/Lucifer, minor pairings (see fic link for more tags)
Tags: Alternate Universe - Canon Divergence, AU - Sleeping Beauty Trilogy Fusion, Mild BDSM, Daddy Kink (see tags in link for more)
Summary: Lucifer's terrible evening continues, and Belial begins a drastic apology.
Preview:
“What nonsense,” Sandalphon continued as if Belial hadn’t spoken. “Using this Singularity as a sick experiment to replace the one you’re looking at right now? You changed nothing. The first will remain here, in their coffin, as they have for thousands of years. And if you don’t get your act together—”
“—What, you’ll let me join them at last?” Belial’s shoulders bobbed with bitter laughter. “Oh, not long ago I would have loved that, Sandy.”
“‘Would have’?” Lucifer repeated, moving to stand beside Belial.
He stared at the third window, yearning to know his King’s thoughts. He noted with unease the jewel-toned images of the two of them in the throne room, helplessly reaching across the luxurious dais to comfort each other in their loss. The glassmaker captured the futility in their pale fingertips with grief’s bitter perfection. I couldn’t bear to recall your face. What does Belial think of this, your eternal funeral?
"Things have changed, Lucifer," Belial said softly. His expression was unreadable, appearing frozen in time like the stained glass above. "I didn't imagine they would."

“You may,” Sandalphon said, his words rumbling pleasantly against her back.
“Oh, good. Then…is having Gran ‘perform’ something special?”
“Very much so. General Beelzebub is very protective of him and never lets others touch him unless he’s there to watch.”
Lyria’s heart fluttered. “Sir?”
“Mm?”
“I’m very proud of Gran!”
Sandalphon’s soft laughter made her toes curl in delight. “If you’re proud of him now, your head will fill this room by night’s end.”

Title: Poisoned Honey
Chapter 8: Lyria: New Tastes
Rating: E (overall, this chapter is more M though)
Tags: AU - Sleeping Beauty Trilogy Fusion, Alternate Universe - Canon Divergence (see fic for more tags)
Summary: Lyria discovers the Bridle Path and softer sides of the Primarchs.
Preview:
Sandy, why not join us for an afternoon snack?” He tapped a finger to his chin and hummed in thought. “You could think of it like…what do Skydwellers call it again? A da—”
“I will,” Sandalphon said, only to dash Lyria’s welling hopes by adding sternly “but it isn’t a ‘date’.”
“Call it what you like, I’ll still enjoy the show,” Belial chirped without a care.
He led them to a small, comfortable-looking tent where Lucifer and Djeeta sat at a table set for five. The spread before them made Lyria gasp in delight—an “afternoon snack” for Belial apparently meant a feast.
It was a merry mixture of the familiar and never before seen: cheese bread, apple cakes, and sourdough alongside carefully-stacked layers of what looked like brown cups filled with inviting colors and scents, pastel balls of pink, white and green on wooden skewers, and most fascinating of all a single, perfectly-preserved raindrop the size of Lyria’s palm that gleamed in the fading sunlight. Where could she possibly start? And how could she choose?
Read on AO3...in the link above, but also here just in case! :D

Poisoned Honey Chapter 3: Lyria: The Trainer
Title: Poisoned Honey
Rating: E
Chapter 3: Lyria: The Trainer
Fandoms: Granblue Fantasy
Pairings (this chapter): Sandalphon/Lyria, Lucifer/Original Characters
Tags: Porn with Plot (!), see fic for more
Summary: Lyria's tour of the Palace begins, accompanied by feelings she's never felt before... (Or: Lyria gets a taste of being a "bad girl" for her new Master.)
Read on AO3 here!
Preview:
Lyria slowly settled onto all fours and crawled hesitantly past the doorway into a room where warmth from lit braziers flowed over her bare skin and soft carpeting cushioned her palms and knees. A short way away she heard the delicate rattle of the lead being hung from something. A peg, perhaps, or even dangling from a new person’s hand. The thought made her tremble.
Flooring rose and fell under her, and someone hummed in satisfaction. Was it the Page, or someone else? Faintly Lyria heard something metal being lifted—a lid—revealing the bitter scent of coffee. The coffee trickled into a cup with more grace than she’d ever heard before. Whoever poured it had steady, practiced hands.
When clothes rustled and whispered onto the floor, she said without thinking “Um, Sir, is that you?”
“Yes, it’s me. Have you guessed who I am yet?”
She sniffed the air again. The coffee smelled a bit richer. “…I don’t think you’re a Page, sir.”

Have you participated in Iddy Iddy Bang Bang before?
Yup, this will be my fifth (or technically fourth since I had to drop out once) year joining in since 2019! And not coincidentally, that was also the year I got into GBF, so maybe you've seen these around, anon. :D They're all rated E (Edit: and do heed the tags, obviously), but this year I might do something milder?
2019: Checkmaid, the Belial/Djeeta/Rosetta maid role-play/escort fic. Also my first GBF fic, so it's fun to look back on.
2020: Debauchery's Sway, the sequel to Checkmaid with added Belial/Sandalphon and kind-of a precursor to a lot of ideas I've played with since. (Sometimes I feel like Part 2, with Sandy, might be better than Part 1, but other days I'm content with all of it. ^^;)
2021: Belial's Perverted Princess Training Diary, aka the Belial/Djeeta one where I went feral for three months and came back to myself with 31k words of horny time travel, metaphysics, and frilly dresses. Probably my favorite of the four so far? I don't think I'd write the Belial/Djeeta/Lucilius section the same way now, though, or even at all depending on the day.
2023 (because I got stuck on it in '22): Baby Princess Training Diary, the blatant sequel to BPPTD and definitely the more niche of the two in retrospect? (See the title.) Still, there were a happy few who enjoyed Lyria getting doted on until her brain gave out, and I had fun. Belial/Djeeta/Lyria with Belial/Lyria focus.
And now, for 2024...I'm not sure what I want to do yet. Part of me wants to test the waters a little more and see if Baby Princess was a fluke, and if perhaps a bustier, less familiar character would be more appealing *cough*Cammy*cough*? But another part of me wants to do something else--maybe more narrative kinks instead. Thankfully, I have time to decide!

A Taste of Sin (Belial x Reader)
Summary: He was once a devout follower. The sweet taste of sin had corrupted him and he craved for even more of the delicacy that was chaos. He would never back down. Even if it meant he had to destroy every piece of you.
Warnings: It’s Belial so yeah, and mentions of violence. Perhaps some spoilers about WMTSB??
“B-Belial! Sir!” You quickly bowed in front of the archangel, who turned around in confusion.
“Ah, (Y/n), if it isn’t my favorite subordinate! You have been doing well, no?” He asked cheerfully, and you felt your cheeks heat up.
“Y-yes, I have! I wanted to talk to you about the sighting of some anomalies that might be of interest to you.” You held a stack of papers out to him as he nodded.
“Always the hardworking type, aren’t you? You make my life so much easier, honestly. I’m sure Lucifer is smiling down on you.” Belial chuckled as he ruffled your hair.
“I-it would a wonderful thought. I wish I was more useful so I could help you guys.” You mused sadly, staring at the papers in slight contempt.
“Oh but (Y/n), you do help us. A lot more than you think. Everything you do is the stepping stone for something more wonderful. And it’s thanks to you that it’s all possible.” He stepped closer to you and ran his hand delicately to the side of your face, pushing strands of hair behind your ear. The same hand trailed down the side of your face before cupping your chin and tilting it up towards him.
His red eyes gleamed back at you as a devilish grin worked its way onto his lips.
“Remember: everything you do has value. You’re so precious to me, dear~.” He quietly said, only for your ears to hear. You let out a little gasp as you felt your heart stop, nearly dropping the papers in your hand.
“B-Beli-” You were cut off when Lucilius appeared, an annoyed grimace on his face as he looked at Belial, then back to you.
“It seems my creations need to be fixed. I asked for you two to work, not socialize in the halls. You.” He fixed his gaze onto you, and it felt far too knowing, like he could read inside your soul. “Don’t be useless and hand me the papers, as you should have done five minutes ago.”
“I-I apologize sir it was-”
“I’m not interested. Make that mistake again and I will give you hell to pay. And you-” He growled as he snatched the papers from your hands and snapped his head back to Belial. “-Did I create you to flirt with secretaries? Quit dawdling and acting like a child and do your damn job.”
He huffed as he walked away, but his words and attitude felt like a stabbing pain.
A secretary? You were no secretary, you were the eyes and ears of the sky. You collected the anomalies, the information, the disasters that struck the sky. If anything, you were more of record-keeper. It seemed Lucilius thought nothing of your existence, only the work you provided. You sighed and blinked your eyes rapidly before you felt an arm slink around your shoulders.
“Aw, cheer up, (Y/n). You know Lucilius is just a cranky old man. He might not say it but he really does appreciate what you are doing.” Belial assured you, a relaxed smile on his face.
“But you saw him right now....with you it was simple but he threatened to give me hell...he probably regrets making me...” You sighed.
“Oh no, he doesn’t. He just can’t express his feelings well. Do you know how much help your research and notes have been to him?” He asked, placing both his hands on your shoulders. “I don’t have enough fingers to count with, though.”
“Are you just toying with me? I don’t think he finds me of any help.”
“Let me list some examples if you’re still upset.” He smirked before leaning down until you could practically feel his breath mingling with yours. “See, who was the one who remembered how the low altitude affected the others?”
“M-me...” You whispered, shivering over what he’d do next.
“Who was the one who spent the day organizing his files and notes? Who stopped an experiment from turning sour by fixing a part Lucilius forgot? Hm? If I recall, it happened to be the little cutie in front of me~.”
“Belial...” You clenched your eyes shut from the embarrassment as he laughed loudly.
“Darling, you know I can’t help it~. You’re just too adorable. I don’t like you being upset.” He gave you that award-winning smile and ran a hand through your hair again. “You know you give a lot. The other archangels and primarchs appreciate everything you do. Especially me. I like you a lot, you know? I’d hate it if you weren’t here. It’d be so boring without you.”
“How can you say such things so casually?” You murmured as you covered your eyes.
“It’s just because I care for you. I feel so lucky we have you with us.”
Why did you fall for it every time?
Sandalphon observed the impending battle from aboard the Grandcypher. Halluel and Malluel had gossiped and chattered about nothing of importance, Gran, Lyria, and Vyrn were out doing who know’s what, leaving him to his thoughts.
That damn demon...it’s all his fault we are in this mess.
He recalled his time spent with Lucifer, before he was imprisoned. He saw figures of his past circling around him, from their mangled forms and garbled wailing, and remembered what he could about them.
Some he had acquainted with, others he knew only by name.
Then a thought formed in his mind.
There was that one archangel who was always bumbling around with papers and notes. They seemed to be busy all the time and were very nice to him, even when he did not have a purpose.
“At least you can be happy knowing you have a job.”
“I don’t really feel it honestly...it’s just me getting berated by Lucilius all day. It must be nice being cared for by Lucifer. I don’t think he even spares me a passing glance.”
“I guess we can both feel useless together.”
“Heh, I guess we can.”
What was their name? He pondered that thought for a while.
They were always close with him. I wonder if they know something we don’t.
“Oi, Halluel, Malluel.” He stated blankly, staring at the two messengers.
“Yes, Sandy?” The two giggled. He rolled his eyes before staring at them again.
“Do you remember that one archangel who was created by Lucilius? The one who used to gather intel?” Sandalphon asked.
“Hmmm...intel....intel...” Halluel murmured.
“Wait, is it who I think it is?” Malluel gasped.
“Eh? Who is it?”
“Wasn’t their name like...(Y/n) or something? Hehe, I remembered they were suuuuper close with that Belial guy. I heard they spent a lot of time together alone~.” She giggled again, and Halluel nodded.
“Oh, I also heard that he used to flirt with them in the halls. Michael had to break them apart!”
“Urg...uh...thanks...” Sandalphon gagged slightly at the thought of the demon getting close to the archangel, especially since they seemed so nice and innocent.
But then again, wasn’t Belial once nice?
“Sandy~ why did you ask us that?”
“I wondered if they had any information on the demon. Perhaps they knew of something else that Lucilius had planned. At this point, we need anything we can get our hands on.
“But they disappeared after the rebellion! Where would we even find them?”
“I’m not sure...I want you two to try and look for them. Can I entrust that task with you?” He asked seriously.
“Aye, aye, sir!” The two messengers cheekily responded and flew off quickly, hoping to find the desired archangel before the battle got too unhanded.
Please come back to us.
You could hear the screaming and the fighting. You curled your wings around your body and shook your head.
Why was he tormenting you in this way?
You weren’t near the battlefield, but still, old habits die hard. You kept watch. You saw the skydom grow peacefully without him. You saw singularities change the future. You saw the Girl in Blue and the Red Dragon meet.
The last few years had made you frightened. Sandalphon had resurfaced, as well as the man who caused you so much pain. He was there, laughing and hurting the skydom once again.
If only you weren’t useless. If only you could do something.
“You know I can hear you two, right? You’re not exactly quiet...” You sighed.
“Wah! Still so sensitive are you now?”
“Feh..I thought we could get you this time!”
“It’s been two thousand years. I know you don’t want to invite me to a friendly gathering.” You glumly stated. Your back was still away from them, hunched over yourself as you sunk deeper into your little corner.
“(Y/n), I’m sure you already know the reason why we’re here.”
“Then you already know what my answer is.”
“B-but! But the skydom! We need your help! Sandalphon expressed his desire to see you again!” Malluel yelled.
“The skydom has done plenty without me. I do not want to get dragged into another one of their messes. I am done being their puppet.” You bitterly explained.
“But (Y/n)! You have to! You have to help!” Halluel whined.
“I don’t have to nothing. I don’t want to cause any more problems.”
“Oh well. Guess we gotta drag you there.” They sighed before picking you up as if you weighed nothing, then flying back to Sandalphon.
“Let me go! No! I’m not doing this! Stop it!” You angrily kicked and thrashed wildly, but given you were not as active and even weaker than before, the two sisters paid no mind and continued chatting happily as they approached the ship.
“Yoohoo~ Sandy! Guess who we found!” Halluel cheered.
“I’m surprised you did it so quick. I guess I shouldn’t underestimate Michael’s messengers.” Sandalphon let out an airy laugh before walking closer to you. “How are you doing, old friend?”
“We are not friends.” You shook your head. He seemed taken aback before giving you an apologetic look.
“I know what I did. I know what we all did but...please, we need you.” He weakly trailed off.
“That’s also what he said. And look where that got us. I promised myself to never be a part of the primarch’s problems, and I’ve been happy since!” You retorted.
“They’re lying~! They were in a miserable cave the whole time! When was the last time you even got sun?” Halluel poked you.
“That’s besides the point. No. I refuse.”
“I understand, but please, give me one more chance to convince you.”
“Fine.” You sighed and impatiently tapped your foot, signifying he had better start talking.
“I don’t know all of what happened. I don’t even know how closer you were to that demon. But put aside the grudge for one moment and think of the situation now. He’s going to plunge the skydom into chaos.”
“But did you not try that years ago? You can say whatever you’d like, but I know what you really want. You don’t care about this place. You don’t care about anyone. You just want to complete Lucifer’s promise. I’m not as foolhardy as before, you have another thing coming for you.”
“Eh? When did you become so bitter?” Halluel groaned.
“Being in a cave for over two thousand years can do that to someone, huh?” Malluel shrugged.
“I know I screwed up. But this time, I’m trying to do what’s right. I need your help. You need to tell me more about Belial. Anything at all will be helpful.” Sandalphon desperately pleaded.
You sighed at his pathetic display. This was the supreme primarch?
“Show me you have changed then. Words are meaningless to me.” You responded coldly.
“S-show you? How?” Sandalphon’s eyes widened.
“If you’re asking me then you really have learned nothing.”
“N-no, I...”
“But (Y/n)! Isn’t him being accepted by the crew enough?” Malluel chimed.
“I guess...” You sighed in defeat. “But, after this mess, I’m going home. Don’t ever talk to me again, do I make myself clear?”
“Yes, understood.” Sandalphon nodded in agreement.
“Ooh~ so sadistic! Did his personality mix with your’s (Y/n)?”
“Don’t ever bring him up.” You angrily stared at the two sisters, and they flinched back in fear.
“Well then, please let me know anything I can know about.”
“Ah...do you wonder why the sky is blue?” Belial asked, staring out the window in almost a dreamlike state.
“Um...I may have given it a thought once or twice. I’m a bit too busy to think about its color.” You stammered.
“Always so cute. I know you probably never thought about that.” He smiled, and without even glancing at you, he grabbed your wrist and tugged you to him, making you fall on his lap.
“Belial!” You playfully smacked him as he wrapped his arms around your waist tightly. He snuggled his face into the crook of your neck and gazed upwards toward the sky again.
“But don’t you wonder why it’s not some other color? Why not green? Why not purple? Why not red?” He put extra emphasis on the last color, but you simply shrugged and laughed.
“I dunno, Belial. I don’t really wonder why things are the way they are. I just observe and take note.” You replied.
“But doesn’t that feel boring? Don’t you want to feel and wonder things on your own? Don’t you want to be free?”
“I dunno...will any one of us truly be free? Even if we aren’t, I like the way my heart feels when I’m near you.” You bluntly said, leaning closer to him. You gently grabbed his hand and placed it on your chest, where he felt every thump and beat.
“Ah, keep talking like that and you’re just asking me to eat you up~.” He laughed before lightly nibbling your neck.
“No! Don’t do that!” You squealed loudly as you hit him jokingly.
“One day though...one day I’ll make sure we’re free. You’d like that, wouldn’t you? We’d get to be together every day, no fear of who might see. No one could break us apart, and no one could stop us from loving each other. Doesn’t that sound wonderful?” He whispered.
“It sounds like a magnificent dream...” You hummed.
“I’ll make it a reality. And you’ll be the center of it all~.”
You stared at the bleak environment in front of you. Impending doom was close. The inevitable would happen. And it was all your fault.
“E-excuse me? (Y/n)?” A young girl’s voice broke you out of your thoughts as you turned around.
“Oh, Girl in Blue. Lyria was your name, correct?” She nodded. “What do you wish from me?”
“Halluel and Malluel kept talking about how Belial corrupted you. Is that true?” Those damn loudmouths-
“I...I don’t wish to bring that up. It’s a dark stain on my life.” You murmured.
“Did he hurt you?” Gran asked, concern in his face.
“He had done many terrible things to me.” You blinked back tears. Gods, everything he caused you hurt so bad. More than just the physical pain, but the emotional and mental anguish that came with it as well. He knew just how to worm his disgusting little self into your mind again.
“When I find him...I’ll kill him...” You murmured.
“Will you be happy when he’s gone?” Lyria asked.
“I don’t know. But I will be free.”
“B-Belial...what...what’s happening?” You could only stare in horror at the scene before you.
“I told you before, freedom. Ahaha! To think, you’d have to kill God himself to be free!”
“B-but we...you...why are you-”
“I’m sick of this. I’m sick of everything. I want to plunge this world into chaos! Isn’t it so much more interesting than everything working so perfectly?” He spat the last word out before he got closer to you.
“And I have you to thank for starting all this. Your notes were so helpful. Heh, and you thought you were useless. All this time, you’ve been a part of something so much greater.” He knelt down onto his knees as he placed a finger under your chin. Unlike the other times, when it was done out of loving concern, this was a condescending gesture.
“N-no...I don’t want this I...” You sobbed. He didn’t wipe it off gently with his thumb like he did before. He leaned closer and licked your tears with his tongue, his eyes glazing over in some new emotion you couldn’t recognize.
“Too late now sweetheart. You fell for it, didn’t ya? Oh it was so much fun seeing you get so embarrassed with every whisper, every little touch. Those nights we spent together and the days leading up to this were nice. But this-” He extended his hand towards all the chaos surrounding you two. “This is pure bliss.”
“Stop it! Please! Snap out of it!” You cried, shaking him vigorously.
“Darling, this isn’t a dream anymore. It’s our reality. Our future, where we can be free!” He laughed.
“No! This is! This is a nightmare!” You yelled, and he gripped your face tightly in his hands.
“I did this for us! I did this for you to be free- and THIS is how you repay me? Do I need to reteach you manners?” He growled.
“You’re a monster! You damn demon!”
“I’m not letting you go, not after we planned all this. Get used to this scene, it’s what you’re going to be seeing forever.”
“NO! They’ll put an end to you! I’ll make sure of it!” Out of pure adrenaline, you pushed him off of you and ran as fast as you could. You’d make sure this chaos would stop. It was your duty, and it was your mistake, it’s time to fix it all.
“Argh! You’ll regret this! I’ll make sure you feel nothing but misery!” He yelled, his form slowly falling behind as you flapped your wings harder. He would not take you. He would not ruin you.
“Ah...two thousand years, and I see my little pet running around with Lucifer’s? Heh, I’ll have a great time making you both beg for mercy.”
“Belial.” You stated. You weren’t afraid of him. No, you wouldn’t hide for another two thousand years. You would make yourself free from his terror, and he’d suffer all the things he made you deal with.
“I thought you being flustered was cute, but you being angry and serious is really hot! As if you couldn’t get any better!” He cooed.
“I have come to end you. I will make sure it happens this time!” You cried.
“Darling~, you said that last time. I can’t help but tingle at what you plan to do to me!” He laughed. “Lucifer isn’t here to save you!”
“I don’t need him to save me! I just need to be free!” You yelled, bringing out a tome. You may not have been the most skilled fighter, but you could use some magic. You’d make him fall onto his knees.
“Oh~ getting serious now? Okay, I’ll go even harder for you, babe! I’ll drill into you how wonderful this chaos is!”
“Enough! Quit talking!” You screamed ferociously, letting your wings expand freely.
“Heh, alrighty then. Show me your libido! Show me how much you hate me! I’ll have you whimpering like a dog and begging on your knees, love!”
“Show me just how sinful you can get!” He cackled.
“Belial...after that other day...I wondered...how long is forever?” You asked.
“Heh, don’t think too hard about that.”
“I mean, you questioned a lot of things. It really got me thinking, you know?”
“And? Has your resolve changed?” He asked, leaning closer to you in interest.
“Well...I don’t know if I really know how I feel. But one thing’s for sure, I want to be with you forever.” You smiled.
“Forever? Heh, I like the sound of that.”
“Well yeah, we love each other right? Don’t people who love one another stay forever?” You asked innocently.
“Yeah. You know I won’t let you go after this confession, right babe?” He chuckled.
“I wasn’t planning on going, Belial.”
“That’s great to hear. So, you’ll stay with me no matter what?”
“Yep.”
“You won’t hate me?”
“Of course not!”
“And you won’t let me do anything alone?”
“We’ll be together through thick and thin!”
“Ah...It really was nice seeing you again. Two thousand years... you’ve hidden from me. You left me for that long? With no hope? Hmph, some lousy promise you kept. That’s fine.”
“I’ll destroy it all~.”

What Makes the Sky Blue (Sandalphon x Reader){Soulmate Au}
Anon said:  *inhales deeply* Okay, so, I love WMTSB series and I love Sandalphon. And I suddenly thought: Soulmate AU where people can’t see a specific color (which is their soulmate’s eyes color) until they meet. Sandalphon, and blue-eyed reader (I don’t have blue eyes myself but it’d be cool). Title: “What makes the sky blue”. Ahem, sorry and, uh... pretty please? I apologize if it’s bothersome! PS. Apart from Sandy, I love you and your fics too <3
A/n: Of course I’d do this dear! No need to apologize, I love soulmate Au’s a lot and I love Sandy a lot too. I hope you like this though!
Warning: Contains some spoilers regarding Sandalphon and GBF. Also AANNNNNGGGSSSTTTTT
Red.
There was always the age-old fairy tale on why nobody could see the color of their soulmate’s eyes until they met. Some say the gods had punished a pair of lovers and cursed everyone to be unable to see some spectrum of color. Others say the gods felt pity and wished for humanity to find their fated lovers.
You haven’t really thought much about it, but what you did know is that it stunk not being able to see certain colors.
Yours happened to be a color called, ‘red’. You didn’t know what red looked like, and most didn’t know how to describe it. Lyria would usually say, ‘Vyrn is red!’ While you would’ve loved to see what color your childhood companion was, he only came out in shades of monochrome and slight white. Lyria was a colorful myriad of blue, and you were thankful you could at least see how she looked.
Some struggled with telling you what red was.
“Red is like fire, ya know?” Rackam said, lighting a match. You could not see it.
“Red is like apples!” Io would smile, holding one out to you. They tasted sweet, but unless they were other specimens, you could not see it.
“Red is the color of roses.” Rosetta would pitifully smile, gently holding the flower to you. They smelled nice and looked beautiful, but still, no idea of what red was.
It frustrated you sometimes. Most of the crew members had found their soulmates-or simply didn’t care- and they sometimes forgot what it was like to not be able to experience the beauty of the world.
But you had a job, you were a captain first and foremost, not a lost wanderer. You would not allow this slight annoyance to take over your mind.
You looked thoughtfully out into the sky, seemingly an endless stream of blue. Many had commented that your eyes were the same shade as the sky, some also saying they couldn’t see it until they met their soulmate. Seeing the sky everyday, you thought it was pretty, but you would like a change of scenery. What did red look like? What did fire look like under a night sky?
Blue.
Sandalphon could not see color. Pandemonium was an awful, hellish nightmare, and it stripped him of whatever sense of justice and humanity he had left. He wanted revenge. He craved destruction.
What good was a world that did not want him?
He was no replacement. He was the end all-be all. If humanity-if Lucifer- couldn’t even see that, then he’d be the reason for their downfall.
A single pulse echoed in his heart, and in the heart of Pandemonium.
Finally, escape.
It was a surge of power unlike any other he had felt.
The fated meeting of the girl in blue and the red dragon.
This was the power that was practically unknown to all of them. Lucifer probably could not even comprehend it. He smirked, it was no matter if Lucifer couldn’t understand it, he’d finally show him what he was capable of. All of them would pay for trapping him in Pandemonium, for denying him of a purpose, for leaving him behind, for even thinking of scrapping him.
He crawled out of Pandemonium and felt power.
The air was fresh, unlike the suffocating atmosphere of his prison. There was color. He finally could remember what color was. Grass was green, flowers were yellow, trees had brown bark. But still, the sky remained as cloudy and dark as ever. Water was also gray.
No matter, he’d paint the skydom red by the time he was through.
Chaos, chaos everywhere. People were screaming and all you could hear was destruction. Crumbling buildings, burning market stands, everything was getting destroyed one by one.
All from this strange man.
He had been fascinated with you since the beginning, whispering how you were the singularity.
He was more than happy to plunge the skydom to the bottom, and the sick pleasure he got from hurting your friends made you angry. How could someone be this hateful?
It was no use thinking over why he was what he was. He had nearly acquired all the primarch’s wings, save for Gabriel’s, and had become an insane monster possessed only by the thought to destroy, destroy, destroy.
You had to fight him. You had to stop him before he ruined your home.
You felt your strength waning as you desperately swung at him, hoping he would stop this senseless fighting.
Hope had finally been born again when you finished him.
Reduced to the power of a mere mortal, he was on the ground, laughing loudly at how you of all people managed to defeat him.
“Of course the singularity does it! Of course they do! You must feel so proud right now, so happy that you have a purpose! You have meaning and the power to change this world! Lucky you!” He rambled on before laughing even more.
So that was why.
You looked at him, and a sense of pity began to form inside. All he wanted was a place, a purpose. He looked up at you, his smile still there but showing something more...bitter, perhaps jealous?
“Don’t look at me like that, mortal.” He spat the last word out like it was poison inside his body. “I don’t need your damn pity. Why don’t you just kill me, huh? Why don’t you just throw me back to Pandemonium? Why don’t you just make me suffer!”
“I...I...” You stumbled backwards and fell on the ground, shaking at how angrily loud he was yelling.
“You don’t know what it’s like to suffer alone! You mortals die so quick, you’d never understand what a primarch goes through!”
“Enough, Sandalphon.” A voice cut through his screams with a serene presence you hadn’t felt in a long time.
Lucifer.
“Lucifer...” Sandalphon murmured, and he seemed shocked he was even before him.
“Old friend...this was my fault. I had waited to see when I should come down to put an end to you. It seemed the Singularity handled it.” Lucifer gazed down at you softly, then turned back to Sandalphon, a mixture of pity and regret in his eyes.
Sandalphon didn’t seem to be happy that Lucifer was there, in fact, he had begun shaking even more violently.
“Y-you didn’t even think I was that big of a threat? You didn’t see me as nothing more than a nuisance that a mere human could stop? You didn’t even take me seriously? You...” Sandalphon gripped the dirt in anger and screamed in anguish.
He was even more pitiful than he thought.
“I thought of you as a friend. My only friend, who had looked to me as an equal, not the supreme creation.” Lucifer responded.
“Equal? Equal you say? We will never be equal! So long as you’re alive, you’ll be praised! I was nothing more than your damn replacement, and I failed at the job before it began! I am not- and will never be- you! You have purpose, you have meaning! This god damn Singularity has more influence than I ever will!”
“Accept your failures, primarch.” Michael’s harsh voice cut through. She stared in disgust at her enemy, joined by her other siblings.
“Heh...yeah...I guess it was foolish from the start, right? To think that I, of all things, could ruin this world. Then punish me as you see fit.” He heaved a sigh and seemed to relax, accepting his mistakes so calmly and sadly.
“We will see to it, Sandalphon.” Lucifer responded.
“Before I’m sent away forever, allow me one more request.”
“What is it?”
“Allow me to thank the Singularity. For having been enough to put an end to my destruction.” He looked at you and smiled, his brown hair disheveled and knotted after the vicious fighting.
The primarchs did not object, and he got up slowly and walked over to you, his hand outstretched. You stared at it in confusion and debated whether or not you should go through with it.
“Come now, won’t you fulfill this last wish of mine?” His voice teased. You decided against listening to your subconscious and extended your hand back to him.
Before you made contact, you looked at his eyes and saw they were a monochrome color.
So they’re red, then.
As your fingers touched, a jolt of electricity ran through you and you gasped. His eyes had turned a marvelous color you couldn’t begin to describe. They shown beautifully under the shining sun, twinkling like gemstones. You wanted to get lost in them forever.
“Ah... my enemy is my soulmate, huh?” He chuckled darkly before his face turned serious as he leaned towards your ear.
“Your hands are so soft...” he whispered, “This is what the sky looks like, hm? Thank you for showing me one more beautiful sight before you go. Have a safe flight.” His frown had turned back into a large smirk as he grabbed your wrists and flung your body off the cliff.
You couldn’t begin to process it as your emotions and thoughts swirled into one.
“(Y/N)!” You heard your friends scream and the echoing laughter of Sandalphon.
“In the end Singularity, you’re just mortal! Just flesh and breakable bones!” He yelled.
“Why you-” Michael lunged for him and knocked him to his knees, making him double over in pain. “Uriel, come with me now!” She screamed and tried to rescue you.
You couldn’t hear anymore. You couldn’t scream.
All you thought of was memories.
Meeting Lyria, becoming a captain, traveling around the world.
How unfortunate it would have to end by the hands of someone who was supposed to love you. Perhaps this was your punishment for thinking about it too much. Your death would serve as a reminder to never let your selfish desires overtake you.
Time seemed to slow down as you fell, and you looked at the massive horizon all around you. You smiled serenely, this sight alone was enough to make you accept your untimely end.
The sky below had turned a pretty shade of red, signifying the day’s end. And you finally got to see it.
Red was a wonderful color, indeed. This was what you had desired, and now seeing like this felt surreal. There was no more regrets. There was no more hate or ill will. Peace. Peace was all you felt as you plunged deeper into the end of the sky.
And then black.
That event had served as a new beginning for you. You don’t remember much, Bahamaut roaring for you to wake up, to sweep the world into its new evolution. Lyria and Vyrn huddling over you, weeping over how they thought they lost you for good. But one thing haunts you to this day.
Sandalphon’s eyes.
The other things may have been a blurry fragment, but you could never, ever forget his eyes. After learning of red, after seeing how much emotion and desire he displayed from his eyes alone, it had stuck with you.
Some part of you even wished to see him again. You’ve thought of what it must be like if you had been born in another world. Another world where he had a purpose, where he was not confined to Pandemonium, where you could meet him once more.
Some times you cried over it. A bond with a soulmate was irreplaceable, and the event of being broken apart made you feel so utterly alone. Like a part of you had been taken along with him.
You wondered how stupid it would’ve sounded to the others. You cared for a man who wanted the plunge the world into chaos? You cared for a man who sent you flying off a cliff? You hadn’t told them he was your soulmate. You sometimes kept up the act you could not see red, but pretty soon, you knew they would catch on to you hiding something.
You looked at Vyrn, now a red dragon instead of the gray he once was. Was this worth it? You wanted red so bad, but at what cost?
After another day of pondering over useless what-ifs, you stumbled onto your bed and fell asleep quick enough.
“Singularity...” You recognized the voice.
“L-Lucifer?” It had been months since you last talked to him.
“Yes, (Y/n). You are still troubled by what had occurred long ago, correct?” of course he would know, you sighed.
“Yes...it’s so stupid of me! W-why do I care so much? Why do I want him so bad?” You wept.
“That is the curse of the soulmate link.” You’ve never heard used in that way.
“Soulmate link?”
“Yes, the link that binds you to Sandalphon. The chain that is your connection to him.”
“Then why do I feel so bad about him not being here?”
“You see the color red now, right?” You nodded. “When you touched, it was like the chain finally connected. And him being away severs that chain slowly. It hurts, unfortunately, and I cannot guarantee that the pain will ever go away, so long as he is still being reborn.”
“T-then what can I do?” Your disheartened voice made Lucifer frown slightly.
“There is nothing, unfortunately. I know he suffers as much as you do, but I cannot awaken him when he’s still in this cycle. You’ve stopped him once, but I cannot allow another disaster to happen.”
“How long will this cycle take?”
“However long it needs to be.”
He sees only black.
He’s not fully conscious yet, but he has enough awareness to think. The cocoon is as dark as Pandemonium, but unlike that hellhole, it feels warm. He snuggles in closer to whatever that warmth may be.
But he feels a slight pain in his heart. All he can feel is regret, regret for turning on the world, for betraying Lucifer’s trust,
for hurting you.
Sandalphon clearly recalls that day as if it were yesterday. The pain he caused you for his selfish desires is something he will always punish himself for. You were his soulmate, you were supposed to be the one he was fated to meet.
The meeting (quite literally) nose-dived into utter madness.
Being in the cocoon makes him wish he could take back his mistakes. He wants to be let out, to be free again, and to finally do his purpose, to make the skydom better.
Most of all, he wants the chance to see you again. To support you like he was supposed to. He wants to remember the blue of the sky and your eyes, he wants to be a part of something with you.
Would you even accept him? Would you even forgive him for what he has done? He has no idea. He wants to be better, but he understands his mistakes were not exactly tiny ones.
He reminds himself of the tiny fragments of dreams he has had while in the cocoon, and some of them consist of seeing the blue sky. Before, he had thought he would never get to see the vast atmosphere in its true form. That day, when he made contact with you, it sparked something within him.
The sky was gorgeous. It held a light so unlike any other thing, and he was glad he got to witness it at least once. As much as he loved the sky, he could never forget about your eyes.
He huddles himself into a ball until he feels his consciousness drifting away.
It had been a painful year for you.
You had loved and lost during that period, and you wonder just what will happen in this coming year.
You stare somberly out on the deck of the Grandcypher, watching the sun rise to form hues of red and yellow on the horizon. It always reminded you of him.
You start to wonder if there’s a point to even holding onto him. How do you even know if he isn’t going to just kill you? You feel your exhaustion from waking up too early start to creep in, your eyes slowly closing until you drift into sleep.
A loud noise rings through the Grandcypher, and it jolts you up immediately.
“What the hell...doing here?” You hear slight pieces of what sounds to be like Rackam yelling. You sigh and walk to where all the commotion is and rub your tired eyes.
“What’s going on?” You yawn and scratch your head.
“This guy was insistent on-” your gasp cut Rackam off as you stepped closer.
“Sandalphon? I-I thought...” You can only stare. He was here, right in front of you. His red eyes looked surprised, almost hesitating in how he should react.
“Yeah, I guess I finished.” He awkwardly laughed and gave you a small grin, but one that instantly rose your spirits. You tackled him in a hug and almost felt the tears build up again.
“I thought I never would’ve been able to see you again! I’m so happy to see you here!” You say, although it becomes muffled in his chest.
“A-ah, I, yeah I’ve missed you too.” He lets out a sigh and smiles, wrapping an arm around you. “I’m sorry. Really.”
“I forgave you long ago, you’re here now, so that’s what really matters.” You look up to him, and he sees those precious blue eyes that he missed so dearly.
“Thank you.” He whispers, only for your ears. The other crew is gobsmacked by the whole exchange, and some still don’t fully trust him.
He understood this was what he was signing up for, but he quickly comes to realize that you still love him so unconditionally. You put your faith in him, and he wants to be the man you always knew he could be.
Funny, he never thought a mortal of all things would be the one to make him feel invincible. The blue sky above is even prettier just by your presence alone, and he can’t help but feel like this was what he had been missing all his life.
He thinks back to when Lucifer talked to him about the blue sky.
“What makes the sky blue?” He’d ask. Hearing Lyria ask that again made him ponder that thought once more.
Whether it was created by the gods, the Astrals, or some unknown scientific experience, he had an answer that he felt could explain it.
Your love.
